Faith Statement

Our Faith

THE FATHER

We believe in God the Father, the Creator, the Eternal One, who has infinite power, knows all things, is present everywhere, and is unchangeable. God the Father is love, and He expressed His love by sending His Son, Jesus Christ, to save mankind (John 1:1; John 3: 16; 1-John 4: 16)

THE SON

We believe in God the Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. He was born of a virgin, led a sinless life, died on the cross for the sins of mankind, and rose again on the third day. He is ascended to the right hand of the Father and will one day come again (1-John 4: 10; John 3: 16; Galatians 4: 4; Acts 1: 11; Revelation 1: 7)

THE HOLY SPIRIT

We believe in God the Holy Spirit. He regenerates and indwells the believer, baptizing them into the Body of Christ. After regeneration, He fills the believer with power. That empowerment allows the believer to operate in the nine gifts of the Spirit, as the Spirit wills, so the Church can fulfill its mission (Mark 1: 8; Luke 24: 49; John 14: 16; Acts 2: 1-4)

SALVATION

We believe in salvation by God’s grace, through faith in what Jesus Christ accomplished on the cross. Salvation is available to all who believe, who turn from sin, and give their whole lives to God through Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the only way to the Father God (Acts 4: 12; Romans 10: 9-10; 13; 1-Thessalonians 5: 9; Romans 1 16).

THE SCRIPTURES

We believe that the Bible, both Old Testament and New Testament, is God’s Holy Word. It is inspired by God. The Bible is without error. Its authority is final and eternal. God’s Holy Word is the ultimate source of doctrine, instruction, and correction for humanity (2-Timothy 3: 16; 2-Peter 1: 19-21).

THE CHURCH

The Church is the spiritual Body of Christ. It is our role as a local church to disciple God’s people into maturity in the Faith. God has given the Church specially-gifted and anointed people for this purpose (Mathew 25: 31-34; John 11: 25-26; 1-John 3: 2; Revelation 20: 4-6).
